From Day 3: Abajo (Downstairs)

Lucía habla mucho

Compare the three forms:

Hear it in the conversation

  • Amparo

    Lucía habla mucho.

    Lucía talks a lot.

  • Yo hablo — “I talk”
  • Tú hablas — “You talk”
  • Él / ella habla — “He / she talks”

The final -s belongs to tú hablas, the person being spoken to. Lucía is being talked about, so Amparo says habla without -s.

Notes explain it. The conversation makes it stick.

In Formula 100 you hear each phrase in a short scene first, then recall it from memory. The phrases come back in your review deck just before you’d forget them. From Week 2, you also rebuild each conversation in Spanish a week later.
