From Day 2: El piso (The flat)

¿Y esa foto?

Esa points to a feminine thing a little farther away: esa foto, “that photo”.

Hear it in the conversation

  • Marta

    ¡Qué bonita! ¿Y esa foto?

It’s so pretty! And that photo?

It is not es: es is the verb in Es mi abuela Fina (“It is my grandmother Fina”). La foto is feminine despite ending in -o.

Notes explain it. The conversation makes it stick.

In Formula 100 you hear each phrase in a short scene first, then recall it from memory. The phrases come back in your review deck just before you’d forget them. From Week 2, you also rebuild each conversation in Spanish a week later.
