From Day 2: El piso (The flat)

¿Hay lavadora?

¿Hay lavadora? means “Is there a washing machine?”

Hear it in the conversation

  • Marta

    Vale. ¿Hay lavadora?

OK. Is there a washing machine?

Hay means “there is” or “there are” and never changes; put no directly before it to say something is absent.

Notes explain it. The conversation makes it stick.

In Formula 100 you hear each phrase in a short scene first, then recall it from memory. The phrases come back in your review deck just before you’d forget them. From Week 2, you also rebuild each conversation in Spanish a week later.
