From Day 5: Un café (A coffee)

Usted es

Compare the two ways to address one person:

Hear it in the conversation

  • Emilio

Usted es la del piso de Fina.

You’re the one from Fina’s flat.

  • Tú eres — informal
  • Usted es — formal

Usted uses es, not eres.

Notes explain it. The conversation makes it stick.

In Formula 100 you hear each phrase in a short scene first, then recall it from memory. The phrases come back in your review deck just before you’d forget them. From Week 2, you also rebuild each conversation in Spanish a week later.
